In many Eastern cultures, the Chakra System is thought to be a network of subtle energy pathways aligned along the spine of the human body. Through meditation, breathing techniques and mental concentration, these energy pathways are balanced and cleared of blockages that inhibit spiritual growth, opening the path to a heightened state of spiritual awareness and discipline.

In early Christianity, the Seven Heavenly Virtues were adopted as a behavioral pathway to relieve man from a natural state of pleasure-seeking towards carnal desires. Through prayer, devotion, abstinence and persistent action, men could achieve a higher state of true happiness through a supernatural connection to higher spiritual realms.

The following map charts the parallel journey along the subtle path to enlightenment—a path in which these seemingly different belief systems converge.
